Errrr. Stupid Game Guard

So finally have both the game and 1.5 patch installed, and now Game Guard is throwing a fit and forcing me to uninstall it. Anyone have a problem similar to this, with any adivce to give? It took me a solid couple days to DL both the game and the patch from the NCsoft launcher. Doubt they will both be ready again by the OB. Thanks

Hoo boy. That reminds me that I have the patch downloaded, but have no idea how to make it 'go'.

Sy, concerning the installation of the patch, you must execute the setup.exe file that is in your Aion_CBT_OBT_installer zip file (once you have copied all the files in any folder of you computer). Then, you open NCSoft Launcher and check for updates. This will take again some time to install the update...

LateNiteWilly, I have the same problem with Game Guard, at least it seems that we can still enter the game. I don't have a solution and I hope this will fixed by NCSoft sooner than later!

Oh. My. Gosh. Don't even get me started. GameGuard is a tool of the underworld.

As recently as yesterday, I was able to get to the login screen (yes, I'm paranoid and try it regularly). My beta key came today, WOOHOO! I registered it and now I'm getting this stupid "Program is unavailable for your country" message.

Huh?? WTH??

Crossing my fingers that this is fixed before Sunday....none of the suggestions from AionSource have worked.

I optd to follow what Mr. Game Guard told me to do and uninstall my game. The download is going much quicker than before, nearly 3x as fast, so I'll keep you guys posted if uninstalling the game fixes the problem. Should be finished in 4 hrs or so.

Unless it works for you, I don't want to think about reinstalling the game from the start...

Oh, man I hope not, but I'll definitely wait to hear if it works for you. Are you getting the same "Unavailable in your country" thing? Then it won't just be the Texan in the group.

Yup same little box would pop up, "Program not available in your country". I would also get linked to two different Game Guard web pages.

So, the game finished downloading...again. Then upon starting the game i recieved the same game guard message. "Program not blah-blah-blah" So i guess the only option now is to hope that it fixes itself before OB or mayb get the Fileplanet DL instead.

FYI, I downloaded the file from Fileplanet and have the same problem.

I'm guessing you are all aware of this, but I thought I put it out there just in case:

If you have the Chinese version of AION installed, you have to reboot and make sure that the Chinese GameGuard is NOT running. Those two will step on each other and mess up some files while they're at it

I remember reading about people encountering the same problem ("Unavailable in your country" error-message) after some of the Chinese servers started to upgrade to 1.2. When I get home I'll have a look around AIONSource to see if I can find what the resolution turned out to be for them. My (Chinese) server wasn't updated until much later and everything went smooth.

Now I'm dreading trying to run the update on the US-client

OK, I did a quick search on AIONSource and it looks like someone found it to be what I suspected: I problem with the the launcher not connecting to the correct server-version/failing to connect out. Here is a link to the relevant post.

I'll give this a try tonight and let you know if I can get it to work.

Decided to patch mine last night, and sure enough - gameguard error. Thanks for posting the info on here, gonna be trying these fixes myself...

EDIT: New patch fixes problem, just run client again and it'll go through just fine!

Confrimed, that new patch does fix the issue. Haha im so happy now! Was figuring that I would spend hours online looking for a complex solution.

I feel ready to play now! Let's hope GG won't surprise us on Sunday!

So, yeah, I got the update installed, it shows the game and the server to be on the same patch-version, but when I launch the game, nothing happens. I mean seriously, it just dies a few minutes after GameGuard has established connection to the server.

Because of all the problems with GameGuard I didn't even see this until I got home tonight and it looks like now everybody AND their grandmother are downloading the full-install client...so at a blistering 50 Kb/s, I ought to be done by Sunday late night...that's if I leave my computer, which lives in the bedroom, running over night...

Love the game, really, really do, but good grief they need to work out their patching

Well, let's see if I can find a download for the CB install, I think that was "only" 6GB, not 9GB.

It took a week of constant DLing the torrent to get the darn thing in it's entirety. It really bumped up in speed when I changed it's priority to what ever the most inpportant sounding title is, maybe "high". When I did that it jumped up from 0.2 kB/s to about 240 kB/S.
